The carnage at French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo has caused worldwide shock and outrage. The reason behind the terrorist attack was the satirical cartoons of the weekly newspaper.
In a recent cartoon, one of the four prominent cartoonist, who was murdered in the cowardly attack, Georges Wolinski, even commented humorously on the Grexit. In a cartoon sketch, the protagonist is French president Francois Hollande, who is riding his bike without a care in the world. As he rides a 2015-shaped bike, he talks on the phone with German Chancellor Angela Merkel saying: “Hello Angela. Do not worry! The Greeks have always respected their commitments, they will not leave the eurozone. We are on the right track”.
However, the road leads to a cliff, so the “flirtatious” Hollande asks himself “Are we on the right track? I cannot know until I get to the end…”.
