Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis appeared satisfied at his centrist party’s inaugural national election performance in Sunday’s election.
”We obtained the unobtainable and achieved the election of 16 MPs”.
He further added that his party’s ” great secret” was in fielding a nationwide volunteer team. Potami means “river” in Greek.
”We shall not betray you” is the message conveyed to Potami voters by Theodorakis. ” We feel the pride in their choice and we are aware that their vote was a sensible one and not a vote of anger”.
“Greece was on the edge of the cliff, and the danger must be averted through action and not meaningless talks,” the up-until-recently TV presenter, who concluded by saying: “We are here to act not talk”.
“We congratulate Mr.Tsipras on his great victory and we anticipate that he will live up to his crucial responsibilities. The country is in dire need of change and social coalitions alike,” he said, adding: “Greece will progress not through a single bloc of 151 MPs, if it’s 151, but through a valid national action plan.”
