Not long before the “vote of confidence” process began in Parliament, former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras addressed SYRIZA, charging that “We won’t let you lead us into a head-on collision”.
He continued by stressing that “Whoever loves one’s country wishes the new government to succeed, but we love Greece and we won’t compromise our European future”.
As for SYRIZA and its aspirations, the former PM stated that “we discern no sense of sensibility whatsoever”.
Furthermore, he launched an attack against SYRIZA and accused the left party of lying and fake campaign promises, and for not having a proposal.
At the same time Samaras said he will “recognize all that SYRIZA manages to achieve”, however, “We won’t let you drive us into a head-on collision,” he added.
“You may have taken over, but make sure the country that you will hand back over, to be in a good shape” said the former Prime Minister to the newly elected government.
amaras continued by stressing that the former government over the last two years managed to restore the credibility of Greece, which is now falling apart thanks to SYRIZA.
“We managed to strengthen the country in order to need less help of lenders and SYRIZA creates a greater need and a conflict from a position of weakness” Samaras continued.
