Exxon Mobil refinery explosion in California

Structural damages, ashfall and light wounds

A strong explosion took place in Exxon Mobil’s Torrance refinery. Emergency services which rushed to the spot confirmed the raging fire and the explosion which took place within the compound.

 

According to ABC7.com website, the refinery has suffered serious structural damage. There are currently varying reports of wounded, with Reuters stating that four workers were lightly wounded and transported to a nearby medical center.

 

According to local media reports, nearby schools were shut down due to the harmful ashfall which was caused by the explosion, while cars and nearby buildings suffered damages.
