Rich Indian couple appoints … monkey as sole heir

Tsunomon the monkey is the lucky sole heir of childless wealthy couple in India

Newsroom February 19 11:26

A well wealthy couple in India raised Tsunomon as “one of their own”, ignoring the fact that he is a … monkey.

The luckiest monkey in the world has been part of the family for a few years and “his parents” decided to ensure his future, once they are not around to take care of him.

“People will think we are crazy and will mock us”, says the 45 year old “mother”, while she continues by explaining that since they have no children they consider Tsunomon to be their son, so they want to make sure that when they are no longer around that he will be well looked after and continue to live the same way.

For this reason, they founded an organization that will take care of their “son” after their death.

The couple’s romance sounds like something out of “Romeo and Juliet”, as their families disowned them after they married without parental permission. They say they started poor and decided to adopt the monkey in 2004. Since then they become rich, with Sabista working as a lawyer and her husband Bratzes running various businesses, such as a television channel and a flour mill.

Proving how much the monkey means to them, all their businesses bear the name Tsunomon.

The 10-year-old primate has a life expectancy of about 35-40 years, which “his parents” thought may be longer than theirs.

Iran is preparing to execute by hanging a 26-year-old man, Erfan, for his participation in anti-government protests.

He has his own air-conditioned room and a girlfriend called Biti. The monkey couple adores Chinese food, tea and mango juice.

The “parents” celebrate Tsunomon and Bitis’ anniversary annually by inviting lots of guests.

They wish for him to be well taken care of and after he dies the rest of the money will be given for the protection of monkeys in India.
