The British RAF was put on high alert as two Russian heavy bombers almost reached Cornwall on Wednesday afternoon, but stayed in international airspace.

British fighters shadowed two Russian “Bear” bombers during their approach of UK airspace. This is the second incident of this sort in the Channel within only a few days.

The latest incident comes in the wake of statements by the UK Defense Minister that NATO is ready to combat Russian aggression against Baltic countries.
