A suspected accomplice of convicted N17 terrorist Christodoulos Xiros was arrested on Monday morning on the near-Athens island of Salamina.

The woman, identified as Aggeliki Spyropoulou, was allegedly aiding Xiros when he was a fugitive, as well as in a plan to spring imprisoned members of the extreme-leftist terror gang Conspiracy of Fire Cells from Korydallos prison.

According to preliminary reports, the 22-year-old woman was hiding in the home of a relative of the Tsakalos brothers, who are currently detained in the prison as suspected members of the terrorist group.

It should be noted that counter-terrorism unit officers arrested another 36-year-old woman over the weekend alleged to have acted as a liaison between the members of the group, and especially between Xiros and Spyropoulou.

Spyropoulou is currently detained at the police headquarters and will be later appear before a relevant prosecutor.

The mother of Christos and Gerasimos Tsakalos was also arrested for harbouring the wanted 22-year-old university student. The arrest took place outside the Athens court, where she arrived this morning to testify on the case of the 36-year-old woman arrested on Sunday.

The mother of Tsakalos brothers will appear before the prosecutor later in the day.
