German MPs: Bring back receipts from Greek holidays and you’ll get a tax break

CDU Mps proposal in order to limit tax evasion in Greek destinations and increase government revenue

With the title “Sun against Greek bankruptcy”, the German tabloid Bild presented an idea by two CDU MPs in Germany to boost Greece’s state coffers by urging German holiday-makers to … demand receipts during their vacation!

The pair of German deputies urge their fellow citizens, if choosing Greece in the next three years, to demand a receipt for everywhere and everything (particularly lodgings and restaurants). As bonus, they propose that 500 euros worth of Greek receipts be deducted from the German citizen’s bill to the tax man.
