Vienna, Austria, remained at the top of the Mercer Quality of Living Rankings out of 230 cities in 2015, boasting the best quality of living for expatriates. Zurich, Switzerland, and Auckland, New Zealand followed.

Athens, Greece, ranked 85th, on a par with Durban, South Africa, and just a point behind Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, though faring slightly better than Limassol in Cyprus.

The lowest ranking city was Baghdad, worse than Bangui (229), Port-au-Prince (228) and Khartoum (227).
