Representatives of the “institutions” — the way the new leftist government wants to refer to EC, ECB and IMF officials — will carry out inspections in Athens as well, Eurogroup head Jeroen Dijsselbloem emphasized after a Eurogroup meeting in Brussels on Monday.
Moreover, Dijsselbloem warned that there is no more time to be wasted, while he clarified that there already is smooth cooperation amongst officials.
The Eurogroup’s head also underlined that there can be no unilateral moves, but only what has been agreed upon during the last few Eurogroup meetings.
On his part, EU Commissioner Pierre Moscovici stated that it an accelerated implementation of the reforms tabled by Athens is now needed.
He also estimated that the path to a program extension has been paved.
“There will be technical difficulties in cooperating with the institutions, and this process will not be easy. It is necessary to have good cooperation, and we will do everything in our power”, he concluded.
