Newsroom March 17 10:33

Can we travel in time? Why do I blink? How is mathematics danced? Can we survive in Antarctica? Are we made of stardust? You can find answers to all these questions at the 2nd Athens Science Festival which invites children and adults to discover the fascinating world of science.

This special event that focuses on science and innovation, will take place for the second consecutive year at Technopolis in Athens, from March 17- 22, 2015.

The festival is organized by the Educational Organization “Science Communication – SciCo”, the British Council, the Onassis Scholars’ Association, the Technopolis – City of Athens, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub “INNOVATHENS” and the Industrial Gas Museum of Technopolis – City of Athens, in collaboration with various academic, research and educational institutes.

The aim of the event is to promote the understanding of the latest local and international developments in science and to communicate the importance of science within the wider public. Last year’s festival, which involved 60 academic and educational organizations, was attended by more than 6,000 people.

The festival’s program is especially rich and diverse this year. Specifically, it will include interactive exhibits, debates, science experiments, laboratories and workshops, educational games, theatrical science sketches, documentary screenings and student competitions.
