The Association of Greek Tourist Businesses (SETE) said that the 25 mln target of international tourist arrivals in Greece in 2014 is attainable.

There were more than 810,000 international arrivals recorded in Greece by the end of March 2015. The figure went up from about 29% compared to the same quarter last year, marking an additional 180,000 arrivals.

Impressive figures were noted in both Athens and Thessaloniki, says SETE. Athens had a 29.5% increase in the first quarter of 2014 with a similar hike in Thessaloniki that saw its arrivals jump by 22.3% in the first three months of the year compared to 2014.

Many airports have also observed an extension of the tourist season.
