The “Dodekanisos Pride” high-speed ferry will link Samos with islands in the north Aegean and Dodecanese.
The new ship, owned and operated by Dodekanisos Seaways, was inaugurated during a launching ceremony on Thursday at Pythagorio, the main port of Samos.
The ferry boat left Samos for Fourni, a small islet hugging the Asia Minor coast, arriving in 50 minutes amid fanfare and fireworks. It left Fourni for the northern Dodecanese isle Patmos, where it was also greeted with enthusiasm, traditional dance troupes and music.
The “Dodekanisos Pride” is scheduled to service three routes a week from Pythagorio, and return the same day after docking in Ikaria, Fourni, Agathonisi, Arkii, Patmos, Lipsous, Leros, Kalymnos, Kos and Patmos.
