Two book presentations at the Hellenic American Union (HAU, 22 Massalias Street, tel. 210 3680900) on Wednesday, May 13, provide a panel discussion that casts the spotlight on two of the most influential Greek architects that envisioned a better Athens:

* “Kostas E. Biris: Reports on Athens” presents the architects’ long track record as an urban planner at the Athens Municipality (1925-1965)

* “The Story of Constantinos Doxiadis 1913-1975: Report to Hippodamos” recreates the era while focusing on the man and his work as one of the very few modern Greek designers enjoying immense worldwide recognition.

The publications will be presented by:

1st Panel: Konstantinos Dekavalas (Architect, Honorary Professor at NTUA), Dionysios Zivas (Architect, Honorary Professor at NTUA), Alexandros Papageorgiou-Venetas (Architect-Urban Planner, Professor at the University of Louvain), Georgios Sarigiannis (Architect, Honorary Professor at NTUA) and Eleftherios Skiadas (President of the Society of Athenians).

2nd Panel: Apostolos Doxiadis (Author), Mantha Zarmakoupi (Architect-Archaeologist), Panagiota Pavlidou (Librarian), Andreas Symeon (Architect-Urban Planner) and Panagis Psomopoulos (Architect).

The panel discussions will be moderated by: Nikos Vatopoulos (Journalist).
