European Commission deputy spokeswoman Mina Andreeva expressed satisfaction over the progress made in negotiations between Greece and the four institutions from the EC, ECB, ESM and IMF. She was asked to comment on a German newspaper report concerning the German government’s doubts over the possibility of a deal over the next two weeks and said that “based on the Treaty of the ESM and the relevant mandate from member states, the evaluation of the progress is made by the European Commission and the ECB, together with the IMF and ESM in this case.”
Andreeva said a teleconference of Finance Ministry chiefs is due on Friday to take stock of the course of negotiations.
