First batch of Greeks return from August holidays

The first wave of Greek holidaymakers away for the August 15 break is expected to return to the country’s larger cities Sunday afternoon. Th ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio are anticipated to be busy, as ships from the Aegean and Argo-Saronic islands will be carrying large many returning travellers. Port authorities are on hand to facilitate the passengers, while the Greek traffic police are also on alert with emergency measures put in place along national highways to assist in the free flow of traffic. More specifically, trucks with load capacity over 1.5 tons will not be allowed to use incoming highways streams to large cities from 3pm till 10pm Sunday.
