To celebrate the launch of Pornhub Cares, a new charity branch of one of the world’s biggest pornography websites, a US$25,000 scholarship will be awarded to a college student.
Students must be over the age of 18, have a GPA of 3.2 or higher in college and submit official transcripts, according to the Washington Post.
Another criteria is the submission of a short video and an essay answering a simple yet elusive question: “How do you strive to make others happy?”
“We’re always looking at different ways we can give back and we thought helping someone to go to college would be a great way,” Pornhub vice president Corey Price said in an interview with the Washington Post.
“Part of our inspiration is that we’ve seen a lot of people have a hard time getting money to go to college. We want to make it easier for one person who shares the same mission of spreading happiness.”
Price also said that applicants who submit sex videos “will not be seriously considered.” Nudity, however, will not be a disqualifying factor. The contest closes on Oct. 31.
In the past, Pornhub’s goodwill efforts had only focused on cancer research and environmental charities.
