Tsipras calls on Greek voters to trust him again

Greek elections would influence all of Europe, he said

Newsroom September 5 10:22

Former Greek PM and leader of radical left party SYRIZA Alexis Tsipras defended his government’s decision to pass the 3rd reuse plan in the Greek parliament during a pre-election rally in Kaisariani, Athens, Saturday. ‘We brought a deal 10 tomes better than the one brought by New Democracy and PASOK”, Tsipras claimed. The left politician once more attempted to play to the emotions of historical left audience from Kaisariani, reminding his audience that he the district was the first place he visited once he had won the January elections. Tsipras acknowledged his government’s mistakes and omissions over the past six months, but said the deal had struck with the Greece’s creditors was the best possible under the circumstances. “Is there any Greek who believes that Meimarakis with his ‘Yes’ to all strategy could have brought a better deal?”, said Tsipras. He underlined that what was at stake in the upcoming elections was who the Greek people would trust to fight for them. Tsipras claimed the outcome of the Greek elections would impact not only Greece but the developments in other peripheral European countries who had elections in the immediate future.
