President of European Parliament Martin Schulz talked about Alexis Tsipras and his decision to cooperate with Independent Greeks.
Speaking on Radio France Inter Schulz said he didn’t understand the decision of Tsipras to form a government with Independent Greeks, a party that received less than 4% in Sunday’s elections.
“I called him for a second time to ask him why he continued the cooperation with that peculiar far-right party,” said Schulz.
“He didn’t answer to me. He is very smart when talking on the phone. He told me that things are convincing, but in my eyes these seem quite peculiar,” he added.
Schulz also expressed his admiration for the way Tsipras handled the situation over the last months and managed to be re-elected. But, he warned that leader of Independent Greeks is a “time bomb” and needs to be controlled.
