The Ministry of Education is to be renamed the Ministry of Culture, Education, Research and Religion. Naturally, knew signage is needed, but the expenditure for the change of signage and the new printing of logos is estimated to amount to more than 800,000 euros, reports Greek daily newspaper Ethnos.

A similar amount was spent in 2013 when the ministry changed name again as the words National Education, Religion, Culture, Sports etc. come and go on the ministry’s signage as different governments come and go.

A former secretary of the Ministry of Education states that he had been asked to benchmark 2,000 euros just for a new facade, but the cost had not been approved resulting in the current sign reading “Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religion” though this designation no longer applies.
