Nimber, a collaborative consumption startup that matches people who need to send something, with people that are going to get it is moving towards a global audience and is bringing its collaborative peer-to-peer services to Greece. Basically, it connects people who need to send something with people going the same way, whether this is on the road, by train or traveling through other means.
After a successful launch in Norway, the lead backend developer is now looking for a senior rails developer to join the team in Greece.
Requirements:
The company is looking for someone that has several years architecting large scale Ruby/Rails applications and building cross platform APIs. There will be a lot of freedom offered to evolve the group’s platform, stack and apps.
The person who gets the job will be responsible for:
– Building highly scalable, robust web services of high performance
– Implement Rest APIs for use by the front end development team, able to support multiple clients
– Building reusable code and libraries for future use
– Implementation of security and data protection
– Design and implementation of data storage solutions
Qualifications:
– Expert knowledge of Ruby on Rails
– Experience with relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL
– Experience with related technologies, like Redis, Git, AWS, Heroku, Node.js and ElasticSearch
– Fluency in one or more of Python, Java, C++
– Experience with Agile development methodologies
– Experience with geolocation services and maps API
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skill set
– Minimum of 3 years professional experience developing backend applications
– Able to work in a fun, rapid-response start-up environment
