The first examination found that chips removed from the black box are slightly damaged and will need to be x-rayed in the laboratory, said the Russian deputy head of Aerospace Forces at a briefing.

The Russian Defense Ministry also said that Russia has all the evidence needed to prove that the warplane of the Russian Air Force was not in breach of Turkish airspace. Furthermore, the Russian jet was carrying out its mission in Syria and was no threat to Turkey and its citizen.

“We have all the necessary evidence to confirm the absence of facts to establish violations of Turkey’s airspace by the Russian aircraft,” said Sergei Dronov, Deputy Commander of the Russian Air Force.
