A heartbreaking video has emerged showing a rescued dog that is so traumatised it does dare to look at people and sits in the corner of the room staring at the wall.

The video was shared by the Irish charity PAWS Animal Rescue and shows Cara sitting in the corner of the kennel and refusing to turn round even though the caring workers were gently calling her.

The charity said that Cara had probably suffered years of unspeakable abuse that has left her distressed.

A short while after the video was first published in last PAWS reported that Cara was improving and posted a photo of her looking straight to the camera.
