The IMF responded swiftly to the announcement by Greek Finance Minister Euclid that the Greek government would submit two draft legislations, during his Tuesday press conference, saying it would consider such a move a unilateral action. IMF circles believe that if the legislations are presented to the Greek parliament before a deal is reached between the country and its lenders this would essentially mean a unilateral action. The Greek Finance Minister had briefed the press earlier Tuesday on the course of the talks with Greece’s lenders and announced he intended to put forward two laws on income tax and pension.
