Athens second pick after Porto

Newsroom April 27 12:36

According to the online version of US magazine ‘Jetsetter’, Athens is one the 6 most economical cities in Europe for America tourists. The piece urges American holiday makers to seize the opportunity and travel to Europe in 2016, as the air fares are at very affordable rate with the US dollar staying strong. As far as Athens is concerned the article says that despite Greece’s economic situation not being ‘peachy’, there is a sliver lining, as the country’s capital Athens has become of the cheapest place to visit in the Eurozone. The piece goes on to say that the air fares to Athens are expected to fall. The Acropolis and the Ancient Agora are a must for the site, adding that there are an array of other top ancient sites to visit free of charge like the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathinaic Stadium and Aristotle’s Lyceum. For food it suggests trying the traditional Peloponnesian food at Manimani, like the pita meat balls, sun dried tomatoes, asparagus, smoked eggplants and the spicy yogurt etc. This is the list with the 6 least expensive cities in Europe:
