The famous band have issued a statement saying that US presidential candidate Donald Trump does not have permission to use their music during his campaign and, therefore, they ask him to stop playing their songs.

“The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately,” the band said.

Rolling Stones, though, are not the first artists to forbid Trump using their music during his campaign.

In February, Adele issued a statement saying that she had “not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning,” after Trump used her song Rolling In The Deep during his campaign.

Aerosmith have also protested over their music being used by Trump with band’s singer Steven Tyler, who is Republican, saying it was not a “personal” issue but one of permission and copyright.

Michael Stipe from REM has also strongly protested when Trump used the band’s song It’s the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine).

“Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign,” the statement said.
