Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday on the sidelines of the World Humanitarian UN summit in Istanbul.
According to sources, the two officials discussed the implementation of the EU-Turkey agreement on the management of refugee flows as well as the course of the Greek program and the conclusion of the first program review ahead of the Eurogroup meeting to take place on Tuesday.
“Greece is facing two crises at the same time, safeguarding the principles of humanism and solidarity.” Mr. Tsipras posted on his personal Twitter account stressing “a new vision of humanitarian action is necessary”.
