Trump: “We hit Iran harder than anyone in history and we’re not finished yet”

During a press briefing in Washington on Wednesday afternoon, shortly before boarding Marine One to travel to Andrews Air Force Base, President Donald Trump spoke about the military operation in Iran

Newsroom March 11 08:14

“We knocked out their navy, their air force, sank 16 of their mines — nothing like this has ever been seen before. They have no radars, their leaders have been killed. We’ve left a few things intact,” Trump said, adding: “We’ve hit them harder than any country in history and we’re not finished yet.”

He explained that some targets were left intact that could have been destroyed within an hour, emphasizing: “They could never rebuild this country.”

Trump also noted that world leaders told him that the U.S. has the best military force, claiming they have never seen anything like it.

When asked by a journalist whether mines had been placed in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump replied: “We don’t believe that has happened,” adding that “we destroyed all their mines in one night.”

The President encouraged tankers to continue transiting the Strait of Hormuz, insisting it is safe despite attacks on three ships earlier that day, for which Iran claimed responsibility for at least two.

Earlier today, Reuters reported that Iran had placed “about a dozen mines,” with sources saying most locations are known, but did not specify how the U.S. plans to address the situation.

When asked if he could claim victory in the war if Iran’s Supreme Leader’s son remains in power, Trump declined to comment. He also did not comment on the attack at a girls’ school in Minab that killed over 150 students, responding: “I don’t know about that” when asked about a military investigation suggesting the strike may have been caused by a U.S. missile.

Trump also criticized Spain, saying: “They don’t know what they’re doing in Spain, they’re not good with NATO… The people are fantastic, the leadership isn’t so great,” and repeated his threat that “we could cut trade with Spain.”

Regarding Lebanon, he commented: “The people in Lebanon are very good, but we need to get rid of Hezbollah.”
