Museums experienced a 1.5% decrease in the number of visitor and 21.4% increase in the number of free admission visitors during February 2016, according to data released by Hellenic Statistical Authority.

A decrease of 11.2% was recorded in their receipts, in comparison with the corresponding month of 2015. The number of visitors at archaeological sites, in February 2016, recorded an increase of 12.1% and 49.9% increase in the number of free admission visitors but the respective receipts recorded an decrease of 4.4% , in comparison with the corresponding month of 2015.

During the two-months of 2015, there was a 4.6% increase in the number of visitors of museums and 26.4% increase in the number of free admission visitors but the respective receipts recorded an decrease of 6.1%, in comparison with the corresponding month of 2015.

The number of visitors at archaeological sites, during the two-months of 2016 recorded an increase of 9.7% and the corresponding receipts decrease by 7.5%, in comparison with the corresponding period of 2015.
