An elderly man who had been staying at the Nursing Home of Athens for two months shot himself with a rifle.

According to information, the 72-year-old was brought to the Nursing Home by a friend of his since he was facing financial problems and had no other place he could stay in. The man had allegedly hidden the riffle in his room the first day he arrived at the Nursing Home.

Sources claim that the man left a note saying: “I don’t blame anyone, I don’t apologize for anything. Please, I don’t want my daughter to know.”

None of the elderly people who are staying at the Nursing Home heard the shooting, while the man was found dead by an employee of the Nursing Home, who brought him breakfast just after 07.00.
