An experienced Western Australian spearfisher was attacked by a 2.5 metre-long reef shark that latched its teeth onto his leg.

Brad Vale, 19, from Albany, captured the frightening attack on video as he was diving off of Coral Bar, in north Western Australia, Daily Mail reports.

He said he saw the angry shark begin to circle around him not long after he jumped into the water, according to Perth Now.

Video footage shows the shark wrap its mouth around his upper leg and torso, while he is kicking his legs to reach the surface of the water.
