A young Greek teenager living in Germany recounts the horrifying experience of being present at the Munich Mall shooting that killed 9 people and left 10 others injured on Friday. ‘The only thing you could hear were gun shots and screams, says the Ria Akritidou, 17, who was at the mall with her father and sibling at the time of the attack.
‘I was inside the Mall with my sister and father shopping when I heard the gunshots. After a short while I heard screams and saw people running towards the exit. We were scared and also started running towards the exit. We feared for our lives’, Ria told protothema.gr. She goes on to say that her father and sister hid between some parked cars outside. ‘We fell face down and covered our heads. The only thing you could hear were shots and screams’, said Ria. According to other Greek eyewitnesses present at the mall there were many other Greeks when the attack broke out.
