First Athens Rum Festival to kick off

Two-day event on November 6-7

All the lovers of Rum across Greece get your glasses ready! The first “Athens Rum Festival” is scheduled to takes place on November 6 and 7 at the emblematic bar “Baba Au Rum”, voted among the World’s best Bars in 2013 & 2016. The 2-day happening will be co-organised by Conf Expo Ltd with vast experience in putting together similar events all over the world. The event will include the showcasing of Rum products, with nearly all the Rum companies taking part. There will also be training seminars and masterclasses and tastings by Greek and foreign experts, including the world famous Martin and Rebecca Cate, founders of Tiki Bar in the US, as well as Smuggler’s Cove. They will be presenting their new book on the history and the future of the Tiki Cocktail Culture, one of the largest pop movements in the US in the 20th century. Drinkers and non-drinkers will be able to get hold of the book at the festival and meet and chat with the author. Known Run blogger Peter Holland will also be at hand, while Michael Landart of the Agricole Rhum Tour Club will include Athens for the first time on his tour. The cost of entry is 18 Euros with the ability to take part in 6 different Rum tastings.
