According to official data, the number of revocable public servants employed at state, local and ministerial levels has substantially increased. From December 20165 till October 2016 a total of 198 new revocable employees were added in the wider public sector bringing the total to 2,099. The revelations effectively debunk the claims made by Minister of Administrative Reconstruction Olga Gerovassili, who had denied the allegations responding to a question submitted in parliament. Mr. Gerovassili had presented a table with data in parliament in an attempt to defend her claim, arguing the rise in the number was “misleading”.
