The human-traders are not willing to slow down the refugee flows. Without hesitations they lead lightly-dressed people into the river of Evros in northern Greece. The result, as expected, is that people are running the risk of hypothermia or even death, unless they are found really fast by the authorities.
Another person was found alive with his wet cloths frozen on him and he is now being treated for hypothermia in the Alexandoupolis hospital.
During the rescue operation two traffickers were arrested and seven illegal immigrants were found as well.
Two people have died from the beginning of the year and two more were found suffering from hypothermia and given the bad weather conditions that do not seem to subside, the authorities are afraid that more such incidents will take place.
