According to poll by architects on Businessinsider.com

Newsroom February 16 08:27

It is no surprise that Gucci requested to organise its fashion show at the Parthenon, as the ancient monument was voted the most beautiful edifice in the world by architects. Site Businessinsider.com asked a number of architects in an online poll to vote on what they believed was the most beautiful structure in the world. The architects based their their views on which buildings they believed revolutionised architectural and the ones that inspired them to follow their profession. Here are the top 10, according to the poll:

“It’s the quintessential beautiful architectural form,” Tara Imani says. “The Doric order, the use of entasis [a slight curve in columns] to make sure the columns didn’t look spindly from a distance…the siting on a hilltop — it gave us our initial ABCs of architecture that we keep trying to use and improve upon today.”
Imani is the founding architect of Tara Imani Designs.
