Immigrants taked to Kalamata port

Newsroom March 2 08:14

The Greek coastguard rescued 85 illegal immigrants in the open seas off the west coast of Pylos in the west of Peloponnese, late last night. The immigrants were on a yacht and after being spotted were taken to the port of Kalamata. According to sources, one of the immigrants aboard the yacht sent a distress signal to the Kalamata police with a cell phone. The coastguard was immediately dispatched to the area, where three other boats were sailing, one of which detected the yacht.
