Terrifying drug “Monkey Dust” said to “turn users into the Hulk” (VIDEO-PHOTOS)

The synthetic drug can stop users from feeling pain and cause severe paranoia

Newsroom August 12 10:49

Fears have been sparked over a terrifying new street drug that ‘turns users into the Incredible Hulk’ and costs as little as £2.

The dangerous synthetic drug, known as ‘Monkey Dust’, sparks violent and psychotic outbursts – and has been blamed for a series of ‘face-eating attacks’ in America.

It has also earned the titles ‘Zombie Dust’ and ‘Cannibal Dust’ for its sinister side effects, and police are now warning the public to steer clear.

The synthetic drug can stop users from feeling pain and cause agitation, hallucinations and severe paranoia.

The drug can also cause hypothermia by inducing very high body temperatures, The Mirror reported.

PC Rich Frost, a police response officer in Stoke-on-Trent, told Sky News the drug gives a user incredible strength.

He said: ‘When you are trying to restrain them it’s like you are dealing with someone who thinks they are the Incredible Hulk, the strength is unbelievable.’

Emergency services are said to be dealing with an ‘epidemic’ in the city, and a West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) paramedic reportedly described Stoke as ‘something like a scene from the Living Dead’.

The potentially fatal drug, which sells for as little at £2, first emerged on Britain’s streets two years ago but has reportedly risen in popularity this summer.

It is said to make the users sweat smell distinctively like prawns and vinegar and causes lesions to appear on the skin.

WMAS have logged 170 incidents involving ‘Monkey Dust’ since April – 131 of which came from North Staffordshire.

The drug is also prevalent in Worcestershire, where police issued a warning earlier this year.

Detective Chief Inspector Carl Moore said: ‘It completely distorts reality for the user and they often have no recollection of their actions while under the influence.

‘We are urging the public not to be tempted to take any illegal drugs – you don’t know what they are made of, where they have come from or what effects they may have on you.’
