US President Donald Trump met with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. Trump said the US was “with Israel 100%” following the two leaders’ closed door meeting.
Mr Netanyahu thanked the US President for moving the US embassy to Jerusalem earlier this year which “changed history”. Trump said the move was “I guess controversial, but turned out to be great in many ways.”
Trump added that he was “very much in favour of what Israel is doing as far as their defense is concerned. They’re aggressive, but they have to be.
“We are here, we are with Israel 100%,” he added.
Hebrew-language media says the two leaders met behind closed doors at Netanyahu’s request.
