“The delimitation of the Greek EEZ will be established in its totality on the basis of international law, not by taking into account groundless and arbitrary theories adopted by the offender of international law, Turkey,” the Greek Foreign Ministry said in an announcement on Thursday.
Referring to recent statements by the Turkish Defence Minister, the Greek Foreign Ministry noted that for issues related to demilitarisation, Greece’s well-known stances are exclusively based on international law and the UN Charter, and are indubitable.
The ministry also noted that Greece will not be swept away into a competition of aggressive rhetoric, and it called on “neighbouring Turkey to act with the appropriate seriousness and with dedication to the principles of the international law and the UN Charter”.
