Mitsotakis: Elections now – Tsipras: The European elections are a vote of confidence for us

If SYRIZA loses in the upcoming European elections he will have lost confidence & should go for snap election immediately

Newsroom May 10 10:49

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras hinted for the possibility of early elections today in the final day of the debate for the vote of confidence to his government.

The second round of the Tsipras-Mitsotakis confrontation was in lower tones than their first stormy debate, but the Prime Minister still provoked and with a lot of irony he challenged the main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Mitsotakis from the informal European Summit: European bureaucracy must be reduced, we need greater integration in the European energy market

Mr. Mitsotakis pointed out in his speech that the talk about his yacht holidays is not gossiping but profoundly political, noting that Alexis Tsipras, who made a career by incriminating his political opponents for relations with the elite, went on expensive vacations secretly.

For his part, the Prime Minister said that SYRIZA would not collapse, but would win the elections adding that the European elections are a vote of confidence to the government.

It is this statement that opens the door to early elections, since if SYRIZA loses in the upcoming European elections -and according to this statement- he will have lost confidence and should go for snap election immediately.
