It is estimated that more than 400 people, including children are in the area

Newsroom February 28 05:03

The situation at the Greek-Turkish border is tense as illegal immigrants and refugees are trying to enter Greece. The situation has escalated following Erdogan’s threat of open the borders with Greece.

More and more refugees are in no-man’s land opposite of the Greek customs’ office in Kastanies, Evros.

The Greek police forces, have responded with tear gas in an effort to prevent them from crossing into Greek territory.

At noon there were about 100 people trapped between the Greek-Turkish borders following Greece’s decision to shut down the customs office in Kastanies.

It is estimated that more than 400 people, including children are in the area.
