The figures concern the past 3 months

Newsroom August 7 06:41

The flow of illegal immigrants and refugees to Greece was down by 90% in the last quarter, while there was a 370% increase of transportation of aliens to the inland. There was also notable decongestion in the Reception & Identification Centres (KYT) on the Greek islands by 1/3, as well as a reduction of pending asylum applications by 29%, compared to January 1, 2020.

The decongestion of the islands of the North Aegean – month by month – is expanding as the total population in KYT and in all kinds of accommodation structures within 7 months decreased by 29.6% and in absolute numbers by 12,428 people.
