Greece, the Balearic Islands, and Turkey recorded the largest sales in terms of bookings for the summer of 2022, according to data presented by TUI Germany.
The large tour operator records a continuing rise in bookings for the summer of 2022 and expects an above-average growth, especially for long-haul destinations, said President Stefan Baumert during the presentation of the 2022 summer programme.
The USA, the Maldives, Mauritius, and the Dominican Republic are the most popular long distant destinations for the coming summer.
“We are optimistic that 2022 will rise to 2019 levels and that we will experience a return to normalcy in the summer,” Mr Baumert said. Reservations, he added, are more important than ever for anyone looking for low prices and a great choice of holidays.

During the summer holidays of 2022, people are looking forward to experiencing special moments again and want more expensive holidays and better quality travel. At the moment, Mr. Baumert points out, there is an increased preference for suites and rooms with pools, while, as he said, travelers intend to spend up to a quarter more for their holidays.
