Coronovirus: Negative pandemic record with 21,657 cases in one day, 9,882 in Attica

The spread of “Omicron” in Greece is rapid, with the competent health authorities announcing today December 28th a new negative case record from the beginning of the pandemic in our country in February 2020.

According to the competent authorities, the new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours are 21,657, of which 14 were identified after checks at the country’s entry gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,105,885 (daily change + 2.0%), of which 50.4% are men.

In the “eye of the tornado” is Attica, which recorded in the last 24 hours 9,882 new cases, more than what was found yesterday throughout the country. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 195 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,644 are related to an already known case. The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 60, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 20,557 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 635 (60.3% men). Their median age is 63 years. 79.8% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
