Public & private sector closed in Attica, Cyclades, Dodecanese & Crete for Wednesday (photos)

Compensation of 2,000 euros for each vehicle that was trapped, was asked by the Prime Minister

The extension for one more day of the shut down of the public and private sector for Wednesday in Attica, Dodecanese, Cyclades and Crete was announced by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Christos Stylianidis, during a briefing on the evolution of bad weather.

He said that throughout the night, with the continuous efforts of all the forces of the Civil Protection, the Police, the Armed Forces, the Fire Brigade and the volunteers, about 3,500 citizens and about 1,800 cars were rescued.

He added that throughout the night, ground units of the Fire Brigade, the Army, the Police distributed blankets, water and food and every effort was made to meet all the needs of the people who found themselves in such a difficult position, mainly in medical care but and hospitalization. They also helped the drivers by clearing the road as much as necessary so they will be able to move.

Also, a compensation of 2,000 euros for each vehicle that was trapped, was asked by the Prime Minister from Attiki Odos which agreed.
