Two years after the mysterious disappearance of a 60-year-old British woman on the island of Rhodes, Greek authorities believe a human skeleton that was accidentally discovered on Saturday morning by a hunter in an inaccessible mountainous area, between Psinthos, Maritsa, and Kalythi, belongs to her.
The hunter notified the authorities and the Fire Brigade, who collected the macabre remains and transported them to the morgue of the hospital of Rhodes for examination. However, specialised examinations will be required as the bones are almost completely bare of flesh, making it almost impossible to determine if they are the victim of a criminal act, accident, suicide or death from natural causes.
The Prosecutor’s Office was also informed about the discovery of the skeleton. The characteristics, such as height and hair color, but also the clothes, match those of the 60-year-old female from Britain who had lived permanently for the last 15 years in Kalithies and had disappeared in December 2020. At that time, authorities had issued a silver alert following her failure to collect food from the Municipality of Rhodes.
