As Valentine’s Day is approaching there are many couples around the world who will choose romantic hotels to spend the weekend of February 12-13 and Monday, 14 for a short or longer getaway.
The Times published a feature about the “most romantic hotels in the world” highlighting the top 30 hotels, which included two Greek ones. Amanzoe in Argolida and Omma in Santorini. “Not going on a honeymoon in Santorini is probably a reason for divorce in some US states,” the Times reporter wrote jokingly in the report about Omma. “So, while there is definitely no lack of competition, the sexiest suites on the island are in this wonderful new hotel. The Infinity Suite has a more modern approach to classic Cycladic décor as a light blue has given way to serene grays and matte blacks. “From its ‘submerged’ pool you have a 180-degree view of the sunset, the Imerovigli, and the caldera,” the Times writes, referring to the hotel’s breakfast with flattering words, especially the “handmade butter cakes”.
As for Amanzoe, “near the fancy Porto-Heli”, the Times reporter talks about a complex of 38 luxury suites with marble cladding between olive and cypress trees. He especially praises the two big bells located in the beach club of the hotel. “They are as” fancy “as the rooms on the hill and you will be able to sleep listening to the sound of the sea.
“Amanzoe also has three restaurants and a library of 1,000 books.”
