Coronavirus Greece: 21,412 new cases, 77 deaths, 489 intubated

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,155 patients have been discharged from the ICU

Greek authorities announced that the new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus recorded in the last 24 hours are 21,412, of which 32 were detected after checks at the country’s entry points. The total number of cases amounts to 2,216,411 (daily change + 1.0%), of which 49.7% are men.

Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 395 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,338 are related to an already known case.

The new death toll of patients with COVID-19 is 77, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 24,917 deaths have been recorded. 95.0% had an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 489 (62.0% men). Their median age is 66 years. 85.7% have an underlying disease and/or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 369 (75.46%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 120 (24.54%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,155 patients have been discharged from the ICU.
