The Greek Committee of Experts on Covid has recommended the scrapping of the mandatory use of a mask outdoors, which the government accepted.
However, the committee strongly recommended the use of the mask outdoors in places where there is overcrowding, especially for people who are at a higher risk of being infected with the coronavirus.
The Committee of Experts also recommended that the capacity of public transport be increased to 100%.
A relevant announcement states: “At today’s meeting, the Committee of Experts under the Secretary-General of Public Health, Irini Agapidaki, suggested the abolition of the mandatory use of a mask outdoors. However, the use of a mask outdoors in crowded areas remains a strong recommendation, as well as in people with risk factors for serious illness and unvaccinated people”.
The new measures will be implemented from Saturday 05.03.2022.
